REPORT CARD PICK UP, FAILURES AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION

GCI will be open for report card pick up on July 5 until July 8 from 9:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. each day in the main office. If you are unable to pick up your report card during this time period, please visit the main office any time after Wednesday September 8, 2010 and we will be happy to assist you. If your child is 18 or older, we cannot give a parent the report card without a note from the child. If you are picking up a report card for another student, you must have written permission from the student or the students parents indicating this.

A student who failed a course will only be phoned if that course is offered at summer school, and they have not yet signed up.   It is the responbility of the student to inquire about all other failures.

To book an appointment to register for September, please call 519-623-3600 ext. 519 after August 16, 2010.

To order a transcript over the summer, please call the Waterloo Region Disctrict School Board at 519-570-0003, ext. 4343.

Please note, as of July 1, the GCI website will not be updated due to board maintenance.

Thank you and have a great summer!

G.C.I 1955 Graduating Class

1955 G.C.I. graduating class, gathered for a reunion at G.C.I. on Thursday May 27, 2010.

Viktor Tinkl, 1955 G. C. I. grad, now lives in Uxbridge where he is a sculptor and ‘maker of things’ (Tinkl). He is also the creator of mural paintings on the 4th floor and on the main floor (across from the main office). Viktor is impressed with the fact that his mural is still doing well!

Student Drop-Off/Pick-Up Parents are reminded that the driveway at the front of the school is a "NO STOPPING" zone.   Please arrange to drop off/pick up students at the Tassie Hall end of the front driveway.   We are trying to make this area safe for all students, yellow school buses, visitors and staff arriving and departing from GCI.   We appreciate your co-operation.

Advanced Standing Dual Credit Initiative

A number of tests and certificates related to the Advanced Standing Dual Credit initiative and the Specialist High Skills Major initiative have been developed for online delivery.

The online site includes teacher administrative control for class set-up, exam time scheduling, and self-marking tests and certificates.

The site also includes tracking and recording capabilities.  In an effort to facilitate teacher and student access to this site, Learning Services is requesting that a link to the site be placed on each secondary school’s home page.

The site address is:   http://ontap.wrdsb.ca/teacher_login.php

Teachers and Administrators requiring passwords must e-mail:    Ron Hoekstra,    Learning Services
