Electric Library presents lots of resources from newspapers and magazines. Canadian content is an important feature of this database. 

The database is a very complex one, and you will need to spend some time with it to get the maximum out of its search features. Use the Help feature in Electric Library to find out more about searching this database.

    Infotrac consists of two packages, CPI.Q and Academic Select

    CPI.Q

    CPI.Q. 1988 - Oct 1999: Use this database, designed for public, academic, and school libraries, to search a comprehensive list of Canadian and international journals, magazines, newspapers, and other references. CPI.Q. includes more than 400 titles with full text articles from over 160 of these periodicals, as well as Gale Research reference data and the full text of selected sections of The Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper. 

    Academic Select

    Expanded Academic ASAP 1996 - Oct 1999: Use this database to find information on: Astronomy, Religion, Law, History, Psychology, Humanities, Current Events, Sociology, Communications and the General Sciences. 

    Caution: This database is mostly American.

    Social Issues Resource Series or SIRS for short, 

    is an extensive database of thousands of articles dealing with social issues. One of its great strengths is that you can search effectively by subject headings

    Unfortunately, it's content is mostly American.

    Excellent encyclopedia resource that provides good graphics/images.

    We subscribe to the International Version (see link on the main page, upper right side) which includes much more information unique to other countries and cultures.

    Career Explorer or Bridges is a comprehensive career development system for high school students. It includes personality awareness tests, as well as career exploration and planning tools.
